How does Folosat track Zakat?
Folosat has a dedicated Donation bucket. You set a percentage of your monthly income to allocate to it. For Zakat, the standard is 2.5% of savings held for one Hijri year above nisab. Each month, Folosat automatically moves that percentage into your Donation bucket balance so it's always set aside.
What is nisab and does Folosat calculate it?
Nisab is the minimum amount of wealth a Muslim must have before Zakat becomes obligatory — equivalent to 85g of gold or 595g of silver. Folosat tracks your monthly Donation bucket balance so you can see how much has accumulated. Nisab calculation guidance is available in the help center.
Can I track Sadaqa separately from Zakat?
The Donation bucket tracks all charitable giving together. You can use notes on individual donations to distinguish Zakat from Sadaqa in your records.
