Connect Claude, ChatGPT, or another AI to your Folosat account

Folosat's AI Financial Advisor is not a chatbot, it's a live connection between your AI app and your actual financial data. When you ask "Am I on track this month?" the AI reads your real bucket balances, spending, and goals before answering. It never guesses.

Setup takes under 5 minutes. Any Folosat account can connect an AI that just looks at your money, and Plus unlocks letting it do things for you, like logging expenses.

Get your Folosat key

Fastest way: in Step 2 below you'll see two options, click the Sign in with Folosat button under whichever one you want and log in with your Folosat account, no copying anything. The steps below are for anyone who'd rather use a key instead.

  1. On your computer or phone browser, go to folosat.com/account and sign in.
  2. Find the box called Manual Tokens.
  3. Tap + Generate token.
  4. Give it a name so you remember what it's for, for example "Claude" or "ChatGPT".
  5. Choose what the AI is allowed to do:
    • Just look at my money: it can check your budgets, goals, and spending and answer your questions, but it can never change anything. A safe place to start.
    • Look at my money and do things for me: on top of the above, it can log an expense or income when you tell it to. Plus only.
  6. Copy the key right away. It is shown only once, so if you lose it, just generate a new one.
  7. Keep this key private, like a password. Anyone who has it can see your financial data.
Free accounts get 1 key (look-only, 50 questions per day). Plus accounts can create several keys and let the AI do things for you.

Add Folosat to your AI app

Every AI app calls this an "address" or "connector URL." Copy it now, you'll paste it into whichever app you use below.

Claude

  1. Open Claude → Settings → Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector (the + button).
  3. Paste the address from above.
  4. Click Add.
  5. A Folosat window will pop up with two choices: "Just look at my money" and "Look at my money and do things for me." Pick the one you want and click Sign in with Folosat under it, or paste the AI token you copied in Step 1, then click Connect.
Works on both free and paid Claude accounts.

ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT → Settings → Apps & Connectors (some accounts just say Connectors).
  2. Open Advanced and turn on Developer mode. The button to add a connector only appears after this is on.
  3. Click Create (the + button).
  4. Give it a name, like "Folosat", and paste the address from above.
  5. Click Create.
  6. A Folosat window will pop up with two choices: "Just look at my money" and "Look at my money and do things for me." Pick the one you want and click Sign in with Folosat under it, or paste your AI token from Step 1, then click Connect.
Can't find Developer mode? Your ChatGPT plan may not include custom connectors yet.

Mistral Le Chat

  1. Open Le Chat → open the side panel → Intelligence → Connectors.
  2. Click + Add Connector, then switch to the Custom MCP Connector tab.
  3. Give it a name (no spaces) and paste the address from above.
  4. Click Connect.
  5. A Folosat window will pop up with two choices: "Just look at my money" and "Look at my money and do things for me." Pick the one you want and click Sign in with Folosat under it, or paste your AI token from Step 1, then click Connect.
Works on all Le Chat plans.

Grok

  1. Go to grok.com/connectors.
  2. Click New Connector, then choose Custom.
  3. Paste the address from above and finish adding it.
  4. When the Folosat window appears, choose "Just look at my money" or "Look at my money and do things for me" and click Sign in with Folosat, or paste your AI token from Step 1.
Custom connectors are available on Grok's paid plans.

Gemini

Google's regular Gemini app doesn't let you add outside connectors like Folosat yet, there's no setting for it today. For now, use Claude or ChatGPT instead. We'll update this page the moment Gemini supports it.

Using a different AI tool?

  • Cursor, Perplexity, or anything else with a "custom connector" option: it works the same way, find its Connectors (or Apps) settings, paste the address from Step 2, and paste your key from Step 1.
  • Glean: this is set up by your company's admin, not by you individually. Ask your IT or Glean admin to add Folosat for the team.
  • Your own AI setup (self-hosted): if you run something like LibreChat or Open WebUI, point it at the same address and key above.

Hard limits: the AI can never do these

  • Delete data
  • Cancel group expenses without your explicit approval
  • Act on behalf of other users
  • Access groups where members have not opted in to AI

You are in control

  • Disconnect anytime: go to folosat.com/account → Connected Apps → Disconnect. Takes effect within 5 seconds.
  • See what the AI accessed: folosat.com/account → AI Activity. Every action is logged with a timestamp.
  • Group data is protected: the AI cannot see group expense data unless each group member has opted in separately.
  • No financial figures stored in AI memory: the AI can remember preferences but cannot store amounts.

Try it

You're connected. Copy and paste any of these into your AI app:

The first time you ask, the AI may ask you a few quick questions about yourself (like your city, work, and goal). That's normal, it only happens once, so its advice is based on your real situation instead of generic advice.

To understand your money:

To actually grow your income (not just track spending):

Something not working?

It won't connect / says the request is invalid

Double-check the address is exactly https://mcp.folosat.com/mcp, with /mcp at the end and no extra spaces.

It says the key is invalid

The key may have been copied wrong or revoked. Go to folosat.com/account and generate a fresh one.

The AI can't log expenses or make changes

You likely picked "Just look at my money" instead of "Look at my money and do things for me," or generated a look-only key, or you're on a free account (the do-things-for-me option is Plus only). Try again and pick the other option, or generate a fresh key with the right access from folosat.com/account.
